Ask Claude or ChatGPT about your sites.
Connect BuilderShield to the AI app you already use. Ask about worksites, inductions, hazards and registers, and have it draft SWMS and policies for you to check and publish.
Ask things like
- Who checked in at the Smith Street site today?
- Which workers don't have a white card on file?
- What test and tag items are due in the next fortnight?
- Draft a SWMS for roof sheeting at Smith Street.
Drafts stay hidden from workers until you publish them.
Which workers at Smith Street don't have a white card on file?
Checking site inductions…
Three workers at Smith Street don't have a white card on file: Sam Taylor (Taylor Electrical), Priya Shah (Shah Plumbing) and Ben Ellis (Ellis Carpentry). BuilderShield's automatic follow-ups are already reminding them.
Draft a SWMS for roof sheeting there.
Creating a SWMS draft…
Done. The draft covers work at height and manual handling. It's hidden from workers until you check it and publish it in SWMS Manager.
What a connected app can do
You choose which apps to connect and whether each one may create drafts.
-
Read your data
Worksites, subcontractors, inductions, check-ins, hazards, injuries, checklists, SWMS, policies, toolbox talks and registers, including workers' personal details. Not medical conditions, and injury reports only as summaries.
-
Create hidden drafts
Draft SWMS and policies stay hidden from workers until you check and publish them.

Frequently asked questions
It depends on your plan in Claude or ChatGPT. On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds BuilderShield in the organisation's connector settings first, then you find it under Connectors and click Connect. On a ChatGPT work account, your admin may need to allow it.
If you haven't signed in to BuilderShield recently, enter your password in the Confirm it's you box first. If it's your first AI app, also tick the box to agree to the AI Connection Terms, which switches on AI access.
BuilderShield has probably been disconnected: you disconnected it, switched off AI access, or the AI Connection Terms changed. In Claude, open your connectors, find BuilderShield and click Connect, then approve it again. In ChatGPT, open plugins, find BuilderShield and sign in again.
Each connection request lasts 10 minutes and can only be used once. Start again from Claude or ChatGPT.
AI connections need an active BuilderShield plan or free trial, and a finished account setup. Upgrade or finish setting up in BuilderShield, then connect again from the AI app.
AI connections are an experimental feature, and we sometimes pause them for everyone, for example for maintenance or security. Connected apps can't read your data while they're paused. Try again later.
Drafts are off until you switch them on. Switch on Create draft SWMS and policies when you approve the app, or later next to the app in My Account → AI Connections.
In SWMS Manager and Policies in BuilderShield, marked "Drafted by Claude · review before publishing" (or ChatGPT). Workers never see a draft until you check it and publish it.
No. A connected app can read your data and, if you allow it, create draft SWMS and policies. It can't publish, change or delete anything.
When a connected app reads your data, it goes to that app's provider: Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT. BuilderShield holds back medical conditions and most injury report details. See the AI Connection Terms and Privacy Policy for the full details.
Yes. Run claude mcp add --transport http buildershield https://mcp.buildershield.com.au/mcp in a terminal, start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose buildershield and sign in. Your browser opens BuilderShield: check it's your account, then click Approve.
